Kathryn Regina Parsio was born on March 30, 1945 and left us far too soon on November 18,2020. Kathy was the daughter of the late James and Marian Riesberg and grew up in Southwest Philadelphia. She shared her childhood with her beloved sister, Carolyn, and they were always teasing each other throughout their lives as to who was the good sister and who was the bad sister!

In 1964, Kathy married her high school sweetheart, Don Irvin and although the marriage did not last, they had two children, Cheryl and Don, who were the light of her life.

While working as a bank teller in Springfield, PA, Kathy met the love of her life, George Parsio. They married in 1988 and built their home together in Elkton, MD. They created life-long memories there until George passed away in December 2018. They enjoyed many years of beach trips to the Jersey Shore and the Outer Banks, many years of camping with friends and family and hosting over 20 years of Thanksgiving dinner gatherings with over 20 of their loved ones.

Kathy loved reading, spending time at the beach, playing dominoes and more recently after retiring, she enjoyed volunteering at the Cecil County Library. Favorite times always included the annual Trumbauer family reunions in Quakertown, PA that began when Kathy was a young girl, to the present day. Kathy made life-long friends from working at Fisher-Scientific and the Cecil County Health Dept., where she retired from at age 70 and still enjoyed meeting them for lunch after retirement. Kathy quickly became a friend and sister-in-Christ to those at Hope Fellowship Church in Chestertown. Her seat on Sunday mornings at 9:30AM will surely be missing it's "owner".

Kathy was loved by all who knew her. She was a true and classy lady and always looked to "put together". She was such a wonder example of how a lady should dress, especially to her daughter and granddaughters.

Kathy was much stronger than she felt she was. She became known as a "Florence Nightingale" who helped care for her sister Carolyn over the years as she battled cancer. Kathy became her Mother Marian's biggest supporter and caregiver after "Nanny" came to live with Kathy and George until she passed as the ripe old age of 96.

God called Kathy yet again when her husband George became ill and she did all she could to support and care for him, despite his stubbornness and instance that he was going to live life on his terms. Through it all, Kathy was by his side unfailingly and gave of herself, selflessly.

Our family and friends share the fondest memories of witnessing Kathy and George's 30 year wedding anniversary and vow renewal. It was then, that Kathy finally got to experience the thrill of her very own new wedding dress- and she truly was the most beautiful bride (again!).

Kathy always made her family her priority, whether it was any of our birthday dinners, Christmas' together and especially when she and George hosted their big Thanksgiving dinners.

Kathy is pre-deceased by her parents, Marian and James Riesberg, her sister Carolyn, Kathy's first husband Don and the love of her life, George. She is survived by her children Cheryl (Keith) Dill of Chestertown, MD, son Don (Stefanie) Irvin of Aston, PA and her cherished grandchildren: Sarah, Nick, Tina and Lilliana. Kathy is also survived by her special nieces Tracey, Lauren and Sam along with so many extended nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kathy's life was full and the lives she touched were many. Her family will welcome friends to join them for a celebration of Kathy's life at a later date, due to COVID restrictions.
