Julia A. Hynson, 85 of Chestertown, MD passed away on March 27, 2025 at Shore Medical Center at Easton.

Mrs. Hynson was born on June 6, 1939, daughter of the late Julian and Catherine Smith Butler.  She was raised in Centreville, MD until she married Tom Hynson and moved to Chester Harbor. Mrs. Hynson worked for Wye Plantation, in housekeeping for over 10 years.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of  48 years, Thomas C. Hynson in 2005 and a sister Shirley Walls.

Mrs. Hynson is survived by her son Thomas Hynson, Jr. and his wife Victoria E. Hynson of Marydel, MD; daughter Robin Hynson of Chestertown, brothers, Donald Butler of Denton, Bob Higgs of Mississippi and David Higgs of Chestertown and 5 sisters, Frances Comegys of Centreville, Emma Era of East New Market, Mildred Cole of Marydel, Debbie Coles of Felton, DE and Diane Smith of Snow Hill.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, April 1 from 12 to 1 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD where funeral service will begin at 1pm. Burial will follow in Crumpton Cemetery.
