Joseph D. Maple affectionately known as "Joe" was born on October 4, 1977 in Elkton, Maryland to the late Robin D. Maple and Gary Maple, Sr. He was suddenly called home on Thursday, August 31, 2023 at his home in North East, Maryland at the age of 45.
Joe attended Cecil County and New Castle County Public Schools. He enjoyed playing baseball and basketball. He loved showing off his cooking skills and spending time with his family. Joe was the "LIFE" of the party, guaranteed to make you laugh when you were in his presence. He worked at various jobs but his passion was cars. His nieces and nephews affectionately called him Uncle Bobby, a name given to him by his oldest nephew from the cartoon Bobby's World. Joe also enjoyed getting haircuts and shape ups with his son on Wednesdays. His friends called him O'Dog and he was known to the elders in the family as Donnie. Joe loved playing pranks on the phone with his family. He will be dearly missed by all.
Joe is preceded in death by his mother, Robin D. Maple, and his loving great-aunt, Emma Jean Turner.
Joe is survived by his father Gary Maple, Sr., Cecilton, MD, his son Jai'Nova Maple (Cierra), grandson Ja'Dore Maple, New Castle, DE, his grandmother Dorothy Turner, Baltimore, MD, his brothers Gary Maple, Jr. (Thomasina), Elkton, MD, Carlton Maple (Michelle), Elkton, MD, his uncles Wilson, James and David Maple. A devoted partner, Charmaine Wesley and bonus granddaughter Dayanna Wesley. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A viewing will be held Saturday September 23, 2023 from 10am-11am at the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 West Cross Street, Galena, MD 21635, where a funeral service will follow at 11am.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be sent to The American Heart Association or the Ronald McDonald House, in Joe's name.
