Joseph H. Emerson, Jr., 83 of Warwick, MD passed away on September 5, 2025, with his son by his side.

Joe was born on May 3, 1942 in Pennsylvania, son of the late J. Elizabeth and Joseph H. Emerson, Sr.  He began his farming career for himself in Eagle, PA and later worked for Dwight Rath, managing a dairy farm in Pennsylvania.  In 1974 Mr. Rath moved his farming operation to Maryland where Joe continued to work for DISMAH Land & Cattle Co. After his farming career he was an estate manager in St. Michaels.

Joe enjoyed dancing at the VFW in Millington. He loved the outdoors, growing flowers in his yard, summer picnics and Sunday afternoons with friends.  He was a collector of tractors, especially John Deere.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Anna M. Difume Emerson in 2018.

Joe is survived by his son Joseph H. Emerson, III (Nicole Madigan) and 2 granddaughters, Kathryn Anne Emerson and Abby Madigan.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, September 13 from 10 am to 12 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD, where funeral service will begin at 12 pm.  Burial will follow in Galena Cemetery.
