Joseph A. Drupieski, Sr., 81 of Earleville, MD passed away on March 6, 2025 at Accent
Hospice, Wilmington, DE with his son by his side.
Mr. Drupieski was born on December 18, 1943 in Wilmington, DE, son of the late William and
Josephine Citro Drupieski. Joe grew up in the Browntown section of Wilmington and completed
his studies at Brown Vocational Technical School graduating in 1961. This is where he met the
love of his life Phyllis and they married in 1963. After high school he joined the Plumbers
Union where he worked for 40 years as a pipefitter with Union Local #74. In 1972 they moved
their young family to Grove Neck where he became a member of the Knights of Columbus and
St. Dennis Catholic Church. Joe's most memorable hobby was his love for building street rods.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 48 years Phyllis J. Drupieski,
passing away on March 6, 2011 and a sister Angela Fontana. Dad was reunited with Mom 14
years to the day of her passing. She came and took his hand to join his eternal family with God.
Mr. Drupieski is survived by his children, Joelle A. Browning (Steve), of Newark, DE and Joe
Drupieski, Jr. (Rhonda) of Earleville, MD; a brother William Drupieski (Ann) of Wilmington,
DE; sisters, Betty Myers of New Castle, DE and Mary Lou Maloney (Mike) of Easton, MD; 4
grandchildren, Tyler S. Browning, Joseph Drupieski, III, Clinton Anthony Ray and Kylie Ray
Drupieski and 3 great grandchildren, Remus Browning, Sabastian Ray and Elena Josie
Drupieski.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 13 from 11 am to 1 pm at the Galena Funeral Home
of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD where funeral service will begin at 1 pm.
Burial will follow in St. Dennis Cemetery, Galena, MD.
