Obituary

Joseph F. Bramble (Joe) passed away on April 9, 2023, surrounded by his loving family, after a long and courageous battle with ampullary cancer.

He was born on July 9, 1950, to the late James Bramble and Annie Bramble.  Joe was raised on the Mitchell farm in Galena and learned the value of hard work at a very young age.  The family later moved to QA's County where he graduated from QA's County High School, Class of 1968.

Joe worked at several boat yards in Galena and became a yacht refinisher by trade.  Joe began a 20 year career with DuPont in 1980.  Joe had advanced to a Lab position at DuPont and was proud to have worked with the Lab team.  He retired for the 1 st time after 20 years with DuPont.  He then went to work at Dow Chemical and was employed for 10 years before retiring for the 2 nd time.

He played softball and soccer on organized teams for many years.  Joe was a drummer and played with many bands over the years.  If anyone knew Joe, they knew he could "cut a rug" with the best of them!  He loved to crab and be on the water, watching westerns and sports on TV, riding his Harley, his friends and most of all he loved his family.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Harry Bramble and William Hunter, and his sister Shirley Folker.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Debbie, sister Patsy Timmons of Las Vegas, Nevada, son Justin Bramble, daughter Jenna Bramble Woods, son in law Rich Woods and grandsons Austin Bramble and Justin (JJ) Bramble.  He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, sister in laws and brother in laws.

A viewing will be held on April 19 from 11 to 12 in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD where funeral service will begin at 12 pm.  Burial will follow in Crumpton Cemetery.
