John Robert Patrick "Bobby", 71, of Kennedyville, MD passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Bobby was born on June 16, 1954, son of the late Harry M. and Mary H. Patrick. He attended schools in Kent County and at the age of 18 enlisted in the United States Marine Corp where he profoundly served his country. He was a Heavy Equipment Operator working for George & Lynch for many years until his retirement. Bobby was a passionate outdoorsman and took every opportunity to be outside. He enjoyed deer and rabbit hunting, trapping, fishing and crabbing. He was an avid Baltimore Ravens fan and his favorite activity in the summertime was Barbequing on the grill and playing a game of horseshoes with family and friends.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his three siblings, Thomas Mercer, Joan Bell and Linda Chapman.
Bobby is survived by his companion of 49 years Brenda Barkhurst; children Jody Patrick of Kennedyville, MD, Shirley Baker (Jeff) of Worton, MD, Tracey Patrick of Galena, MD, Timothy Barkhurst (Erica) of New Castle, DE, and Steven Barkhurst of Miami, FL; grandchildren Dallas Patrick, Douglas Cummings, Aubrey Baker, Alexis Baker, TJ Barkhurst, and Emilee Barkhurst; great grandchildren Layah Patrick and Everlee Patrick.
A viewing will be held on Friday January 23, 2026 from 11 AM to 12 PM in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD, where a funeral service will follow at 12 PM. Burial will follow in Chesterville Cemetery, Chesterville, MD.
