Joan M. Knotts, 85 of New Port Richey, FL, passed away on September 3, 2024 at home.

Mrs. Knotts was born on March 22, 1939 in Arlington, MA, daughter of the late Clarence and Marjorie Hommel Humphrey.  She was raised in Woburn, MA.  Mrs. Knotts met her husband William while he was in the service, and they were married in 1958.  In 1959 they moved to Church Hill where they raised their children.  She worked as a substitute teacher for 35 years in Queen Anne's County Public Schools.  She and Bill enjoyed spending winters in Florida since 1999 making it their home in 2016.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Keith Martin Knotts and a sister, Patricia McCreevan.

Mrs. Knotts is survived by her husband of 66 years, William H. Knotts; children William H. Knotts, Jr. (Rhonda) of Church Hill, MD, James E. Knotts of Centreville, MD and Karen Marie Sides of Henderson, MD; a sister Sandra Ryan of Massachusetts; 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday, September 11 at 11 am in Sudlersville Cemetery, Sudlersville, MD.
