Joan L. Higgs, 77 of Still Pond, MD passed away on August 6, 2024 at the Resorts at Chester River Manor.

Mrs. Higgs was born on July 17, 1947 in Chestertown, MD daughter of Catherine Holden States and the late George Henry States.  Joan was a 1965 graduate of Sudlersville High School. She worked as a secretary for Kent County Circuit Court and several other businesses.  Joan loved to shop and decorate for Christmas.

Along with her father she was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Clifton Higgs, Sr. in 2018; her sister Doris Ann Reynolds, brother James States and nephew Larry Crew.

Joan is survived by her son, J.C. Higgs of Still Pond and mother, Catherine States of Chestertown.
