Jerome R. Kilpatrick, 84 of Newark, DE, passed away on January 14, 2024 at Accent Care, Christiana Hospital.

Mr. Kilpatrick was born on December 18, 1939 in Wilmington, DE, son of the late Clement and Veronica Reese Kilpatrick.  He was a 1961 graduate of H. Fletcher Brown Technical High School.  In 1960 he enlisted with the Delaware Army National Guard, serving for 3 years.  He began his career with Continental Can Company in 1964 and completed his apprentice machinist in 1971 at DuPont and retired from Astra Zeneca.

He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, training Pointer Dogs, attending Retriever trials and events with Delaware Bay Retrievers Club.  He most enjoyed the time spent with his grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was preceded by his wife of 44 years, Donna L. Kilpatrick and a brother Robert Kilpatrick.

Mr. Kilpatrick is survived by his children, Veronica Harrigan (Ryan), Chris Loeb (Deanna), Susan Loeb and Brian Loeb (Tracey); 4 grandchildren, Jacqueline Shaffer (DJ), Katrina Wyatt, Brennan Loeb and Audrey Harrigan and 2 great grandchildren, Mason and Braiden.

A viewing will be held on Monday, January 22 from 10 to 11 am in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD, where funeral service will begin at 11 am.  Burial will follow in Galena Cemetery.
