Jeanne Carter Wright, 96 of Galena Maryland passed away at home on July 10, 2021.

Mrs. Wright was born on August 10, 1924, in Baltimore, MD to the late John and Catherine Carter.  Jeanne was raised by her great aunt and uncle, Helen and Perry Reily.  In the 1040's she moved to New York City and returned to Maryland in the 1960's. In 1969 she received an AA degree from Chesapeake College's first graduating class.  She began working for Cecil Co. Social Services in 1974, retiring in 1985.  She returned in 1988 to the Kent Co. Social Services, where she remained until her retirement in 2009, at the age of 85.  She was a member of the Olivet Pentecostal Church of Love.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years Roosevelt Wright, Jr and brother John Carter, Jr.

Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Hope Roane; grandchildren, Dalton Jackson (Ardelia), Kimberly Jackson Bennefield (Aaron), and Eric Jackson; 6 great grandchildren and 19 great great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday July 23 at 11 am in the Olivet Pentecostal Church of Love, Galena, where friends may call after 9 am.  Burial in the Chew Family Cemetery, Olivet Hill, Galena MD.
