James Albert Waters, Jr. aka "Boot" was born on May 31, 1962, He transitioned on January 22, 2026 at the age of 63.

He was preceded in death by his parents: James Albert Waters, Sr. and Irene Bernice Waters, a daughter Dominque Waters and brothers, Ronald, Jerome and Gregory Waters.

Boot is survived by a son James Albert Waters, III (Kelly), a daughter Shawnia Waters, 7 brothers, 5 sisters, 9 grandchildren, 1 brother-in-law, 7 sisters in law, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins and friends.  His devoted friend Iona Queen, she was there for him until God called him home.

He enjoyed watching Law & Order and sitting up in Shady Nook under his favorite tree, that's where you were guaranteed lots of laughs from his jokes and stories.  He would say what channel you want to watch today, HBO, Cinemax etc., once you made your choice the stories began.

The family would like to thank the staff at Elkton Nursing and Rehabilitation and the hospice nurses.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 7 from 9 to 10:45 am at the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD where funeral service will begin at 11 am.  Burial will be held privately.
