James John Firlein, Jr, 46 of Earleville, MD passed away peacefully with his mom by his side on March 5, 2025.

James was born on November 30, 1978 in Chester, PA, son of Nancy and Philip Sponeybarger.  He was raised in Chester where he was a 1996 graduate of Chichester High School. James loved sports, playing baseball and football while in school.  He loved cooking, watching cooking shows and working at the Harbor Café.  He enjoyed listening to music, watching movies and quoting movie lines, surfing, fishing, crabbing and eating them.  James especially loved being with his family.

James is preceded by his brothers Timothy and Jason Firlein.

He is survived by his parents, Nancy & Phil Sponeybarger; his uncle Bobby who he shared a love of music with and Aunt Michelle.
