James Edward Little Jr., 85. Affectionately known as; Chick, Brother and Little, departed this life on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at home. He was born on July 30, 1940, to the late James Little Sr. and Daisy Beatrice Seeney-Walker. His mother Daisy married Reverend James Walker, and this union brought Chick to Butlertown and his extended family. Chick attended both Henry Highland Garnet High School and Kennard High School receiving a GED in 1977. He enlisted in the United States Army, Armor Crew Unit, from 1959 - 1964. The bulk of Chick's employment was with the local union, Labor Local 199 of Delaware, retiring in 1995. Chick also held a CDL Class A license which he used as a driver for Nic Carter of Chestertown MD. He also worked as an Electrician in both Maryland and Delaware. During his retirement, Chick served as a professional driver, mostly for Elmer Horsey.
Chick participated in many social and fraternal organizations. He was a former member of Thomas H. Kiah Lodge #101, F. & A.M., P.H.A of Rock Hall, MD. He received his 32d Degree from James A. Mingo and was Past Potentate of Abu Lahab Temple 206. Chick was also a member of the New Christian Chapel of Love (NCCOL) UMC in Worton, MD.
Chick's pastimes included; watching football, especially NFL with his favorite team being the Miami Dolphins, playing pinochle and spending time with his crew, mostly talking. Chick was known for keeping a clean car and of his love of cars and being dressed to the T.
Chick was preceded in death by his parents and stepfather, his son James Little Ill, daughter, Tia Little, grandson James Little IV, two sisters; Carrie and Viola, four stepsisters and one stepbrother.
Chick is survived by his loving wife of 60 years (September 3, 1965), Faye J. Little, one daughter, Pamela Jones (Isiah) of North Dakota. One son, Rodrick Little (Michelle) of Worton, MD, a grandson whom he raised as his own, Milahn Trusty (Shana) of Chestertown, MD, one daughter-in-law, Denise Little of Arkansas. Nine grandchildren; Brandon Little, Chante Charles (Evans), Keisha Hill, Isiah Jones III (Jessie), Tatiana Brown, Armani Brown, Kendra Little, Malcom Little and Rodrick Little. Seventeen great-grandchildren and 9 great- great grandchildren. Four bonus children; Shelly Murray, Nina Warren, Yvette Tull and Dotsey Sisco. Two sisters; Beverly Scott (Charles), Ruth Sage, and one brother in-law, Williams Jones Sr. One special nephew, Gary Somerville (Michelle). A host of other nieces, nephews, family and friends.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, September 6, from 10 to 12 pm at Mt Olive AME Church, 24840 Lambs Meadow Rd., Worton, MD where funeral service will begin at 12 pm. Burial will follow at New Christian Chapel of Love Cemetery, Big Woods, MD
