James T. Chance, Sr., 80 of Galena, MD passed away on October 8, 2022 at Christiana Hospital.

Jimmy was born on June 2, 1942, on White Hall Farm near Cecilton, son of the late John T. (Tom) and Beulah M. (Tiny) Ransom Chance. As a young boy he worked for his uncles on various Chance family farms. He later worked for Globe Battery Plant and Ormsby Sawmill until he began J.T. Chance and Sons Trucking in the late 1970's, retiring in 2007. He was a member of the Millington Moose Lodge. Jimmy loved country music, old cars and trucks and a good western. He loved his family.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Janie Chance and a sister, Mary Etta Workman.

Jimmy is survived by his wife of 45 years, Beverly Breeding Chance; children, Leslie Bland of Chestertown, Ricky Bland of Clayton, DE and J.C. Chance (JoAnn) of Milford, DE; sister, Betty Jane Schelts (Charles 'Chummy") of Millington; 5 grandchildren, Daisy Bland, Brittany Bentley, Trevor Bland, Cody Bland and Allison Chance and a great granddaughter, Lorraine Bland.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 12 from 10 am to 12 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD, where funeral service will begin at 12 pm. Burial will follow in Galena Cemetery.
