Jacki Lynn Poore, 52, of Clayton, Delaware, passed away peacefully on April 17, 2026, at Christiana Care Newark, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born on November 5, 1973, in Earleville, Maryland, Jacki was the beloved daughter of Walter “Joe” Poore and the late Sharon Poore. She was a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, partner, and friend whose presence brought warmth and joy to all who knew her.

Jacki graduated from Bohemia Manor High School, Class of 1991, where her lifelong passion for animals first took root through her involvement in 4-H. Her early experiences showing animals sparked a deep and enduring love for horses. She went on to pursue this passion professionally, working with horses at Winbak Farm and later specializing in Arabian horses at Valor Farms. Her connection to these animals reflected her gentle nature, dedication, and nurturing spirit.

For more than thirteen years, Jacki proudly served the State of Delaware in the Division of Public Health. In her current role as Training and Education Administrator, she was known for her diligence, professionalism, and commitment to excellence. While her career was meaningful, it was her relationships—with family, friends, co- workers and her beloved animals—that truly defined her life.

Jacki was known for her kind heart, selflessness, and unwavering generosity. She consistently placed the needs of others before her own, leaving a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her love of animals, especially her horse, Say What and her beloved canine companion, Odie, a gift passed down from her parents, remained a central part of her life. Whether raising, showing, or riding horses, she found joy and purpose in their care.

She is survived by her father, Walter “Joe” Poore; her brother, Jason Poore and his wife, Renea; her nieces, Shelby, Jessica, and Chelsea; a great-niece; and her partner, Bill Davis. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sharon Poore.

A visitation will be held on April 26, 2026, from 12:00 to 2:00 PM in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross Street, Galena, Maryland. A memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM.
