James Harry White, 85 of Still Pond, MD passed away on February 11, 2024 in Shore Medical Center at Easton.

Harry was born on September 9, 1938 in Queen Anne's County, son of the late James E. White and Mollie George Chadwick.  At a young age his family moved to a farm in Rock Hall by the way of mule and wagon (that's Harry's story).  He met Dorothy Middleton in 1956 and they were married in 1958.

He had served with the Maryland National Guard for 6 years.  Harry was known for building custom Bay Boats, he also was a waterman, and worked for Gillespie.  He loved playing modified softball and was inducted into the Maryland Softball Hall of Fame. He enjoyed pitching horseshoes, NASCAR and inviting the community to his Fish Fry's.  He determined his wealth not by money but by friends.

He was a member of the Sgt. Preston Ashley American Legion Post 228 and a life member of the Kent County Waterman's Association.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Robin White and his sisters, Betty Meekins, Helen Fletcher and June Pinder.

Harry is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Ann Middleton White; children, Chuckie White (Jan), Jamie White (Julie), Troy 'Bird' White (Dawn) and Chrissy Knapik (Paul); 5 grandsons, Taylor, JD, Tucker, Tegan and Stormy and 4 great grandchildren, Layton, Kade, Nolan and Sawyer.

A graveside service will be held on Sunday, February 25, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Rock Hall, MD where a celebration will follow at the Rock Hall Fire Hall.
