Obituary

Irene Conley Moore, 85 of Galena, MD passed away on February 10, 2025 at Christiana Hospital, Newark, DE, surrounded by her loving daughters and family.

Irene was born on August 12, 1939 in Ridgely, MD daughter of the late George and Pearl Cubbage Conley.  In 1959 she married Carleton 'Zip' Moore and lived in Millington where they raised their daughters.  Irene worked as a Credit Representative for Playtex in Dover for 43 years, retiring in 2001.  She also worked at the Village Bakery and Twinny's. In 1989 they established a home on Bradford Johnson Rd where she fed friends and family every chance she could.  She enjoyed cooking, canning, country music and church and found her peace and happiness in all.  But most of all it was family first then people that made her thrive.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Zip Moore, siblings, Alice Tribbett and Charles Conley.

Irene is survived by her daughters, Carole Mulford (Joe) and Tracie Simon (Chris); a brother, George 'Dickie' Conley; grandsons, Trevor Mulford (Brooke), Benjamin Simon (Shannon) and Tannor Mulford (Natasha); and 6 great grandchildren, Scarlett, River, Hayes, Tripp, Shane and Macey.

A viewing will be held on Monday, February 17 from 11 am to 12 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD where funeral service will follow at 12 pm.  Burial in Galena Cemetery.
