Irby G. Reed, Jr., 86 of Downingtown, PA, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2022, at Penn Presbyterian Hospital, Philadelphia, PA.

Mr. Reed was born on July 15, 1935, in Earleville, MD, son of the late Violet and Irby G. Reed, Sr.  He was a 1953 graduate of Cecilton High School.  Later that year he entered the U.S. Army, serving for 3 years with 1 year and 5 months in Korea.  Upon his honorable discharge he began his 40-year career with Pepperidge Farm while living in Downingtown, PA.  Mr. Reed enjoyed horse racing and loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and family.

Along with his parents he was preceded by a brother, Frederick Reed, Sr. and 3 sisters, Cora Reed, Joan Reed and Carolyn Rehfuss.

Mr. Reed is survived by his wife of 62 years, Eleanore Reed; 2 sons, Jeff Reed and his wife Susan of West Chester, PA, Todd Reed and his wife Karen of Downingtown, PA; 2 sisters Janet Holdsworth and Christina Bishop and her husband, Rev. Ron Bishop; 3 grandchildren, Matt, Bryan, and Dalton, and 2 great grandsons, Caleb, and Lucas.

A private graveside service will be held in Zion Cemetery, Cecilton, MD.
