Helen Marie Fletcher, 81 of Smyrna, DE passed away on October 10, 2021 in Delaware Hospice Center, Milford, DE.

Helen was born on February 5, 1940 in Rock Hall, MD, daughter of the late James and Molly George White.  She had worked at Slagle Garment Factory in Chestertown and for Ed Pickering.  She raised her children in Rock Hall until moving to Smyrna in 1992.  Helen loved to read, pitch horseshoes and playing cards at Silver Lake Hunting and Fishing Club.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Leonard G. Manley in 1968; her longtime companion, Arthur "Iggy" Schmidt; her children, Debbie Marie Manley and Gerald Manley, Sr.; grandsons, Justin Blair and Tony Manley; sisters, June Pinder, Betty Meekins and Mary Patrick and brothers, Henry White and Thomas White.

Helen is survived by her children, James A. Manley of Smyrna, and Cynthia Blair (Samuel) of Felton; daughter in law, Catherine Manley of Hartly, DE; a brother, Harry 'Sonny' White (Dot) of Still Pond, MD; 8 grandchildren, Tina Blair, Gerald Manley, Jr., Matthew Manley, Christopher Manley, A.J. Manley, Daniel Manley, Michael Blair and Jeremy Blair and 9 great grandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Monday, October 18 from 12 to 1 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD, where service will begin at 1 pm.  Burial in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Rock Hall, MD

In lieu of flowers, donations may be offered to the Galena Funeral Home to assit with expenses.
