Harry Leland Schrader, Sr. 90 of Chestertown, MD passed away on April 25, 2025 at home on his beloved farm.

Mr. Schrader was born on December 15, 1934, son of the late Irwin and Florence Pierce Schrader of Chesapeake City, MD.  On December 29, 1951 Harry married the love of his life Evelyn.  They started their lives living in Earleville and Warwick, MD, raising their six sons.  In 1968 they moved to Chestertown where they farmed and operated a dairy with their sons.  The family farm was the setting for the 2022 Motion Picture "The Road to Galena".

When he wasn't working on the farm, Harry enjoyed time with his family at their home on the Corsica River in Centreville, MD.  He loved to fish and was also an avid goose and duck hunter.  As a long time member of the Maryland Virginia Milk Producers, he served as the director for over 15 years from 1984 to 1999.  He was a member of the Chestertown Church of the Nazarene.

Along with his parents, he was preceded by his wife of 71 ½ years Evelyn Loller Schrader; sons, Harry Jr. "Butch" and Larry Schrader; siblings, Ida Briscoe, Pauline Watson, Fred, George and Pierce Schrader; and great-grandson Brice Boone.

Mr. Schrader is survived by his sons Bruce (Ann) of Henderson, Ronald of Chestertown, MD, Kenneth of Goldsboro, MD and Eric (Arraminta) of Chestertown, MD; a daughter in law, Debbie of Mt. Harmon. 9 grandchildren, Keith, Kim, Brian, Brad, Brett, Catie, Trish, Kenzie and Jonathan, 16 great grandchildren and 2 great-greatgrandchildren.

A viewing will be held on Saturday, May 3 from 10 to 12 at the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, Galena, MD where funeral service will begin at 12 pm.  Burial will follow in St. Paul's Cemetery, Earleville, MD.
