Harry A Daggers died December 17th at the Resorts at Chester River Manor in Chestertown. He was 89, born in Taylor Pennsylvania, the son of Anna Mae and Harry Daggers. Harry was raised in Berwick PA with some time spent in Oak Ridge Tennessee while his father worked as a staff sergeant on the Manhattan Project.
He always had a passion for art and considered going to school for that upon graduation from Berwick High but chose the Navy instead during the Korean War and was stationed on the USS Alstede.
Harry and his wife Edwina moved to Warrington PA where they raised their three children while he worked as a salesman for a newspaper etching company. In the late 70s he remarried, to Eileen, and in later years they moved to his favorite place on the bay, Tolchester Maryland where he worked at Washington College for several years until full retirement. He continued to paint and carve, often using pieces of driftwood he collected.
He always had a sense of humor but could be sarcastic, loved to tell jokes and pull pranks.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his younger brother Duane and also his wife Eileen. Harry is survived by daughters Holly Johnson (Mike) and Sharon Daggers (Nelson), his son James Daggers, Eileen's sons Chris and Gary Bradshaw and their families, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
