Gregory Wayne Waters, affectionately known as "Herb" and; "Sal" passed away peacefully on July 11, 2023 at his home in Middletown, Delaware. He was 66 years old.

Gregory was born on December 2, 1956 in Elkton, Maryland to James A. Waters, Sr. and Nellie (Fields) Wilson. He received his early education in the Cecil County Public School System and graduated from Bohemia Manor high school in the Spring of 1975.

Gregory was employed by the University of Delaware for over twenty years. He was a family-oriented man and loved spending time with his loved ones. It's no secret he was a deeply devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan. He enjoyed watching them play and discussing the game highlights with others who also "bleed green" for the Eagles. Gregory also enjoyed watching a good old western movie, and of course tuning in to his beloved soap operas "The Young and The Restless" and "The Bold and The Beautiful". Those were his absolute favorites.

Gregory is preceded in death by his parents, James A. Waters Sr. and Nellie (Fields) Wilson and two brothers; Ronald S. Waters, Sr. and Tony Fields.

Gregory is survived by his wife of 42 years Carmel Waters; his two sons Gregory L. Waters Jr. and Aaron M. Waters, mother-in-law Lucille M.R. Gude; 11 brothers; 6 sisters (devoted siblings: Larry, Michael, Lisa and Rochelle); 11 sisters-in-law; 7 brothers-in-law; 4 aunts; 2 uncles; and a host of loving nieces, nephews and cousins.

A viewing will be held on July 26 from 10 to 11:45 in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD, where funeral service will begin at 12 noon.
