Gertrude Husfelt Combs, 81 of Cecilton, MD passed away on July 11, 2024 at home.

Mrs. Combs was born on April 16, 1943, daughter of John F. and Thelma Cannan Husfelt.  She began her 35-year career in banking with Elkton Banking and Trust and continued with County Bank and retired from Mercantile.  Mrs. Combs enjoyed cooking, shopping, yard sales, visiting Dover Downs, crabbing, camping and Bingo.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Eric Combs and her brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Combs is survived by her husband of 60 years, James C. Combs; her son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Paula Combs; granddaughters, Erica Combs and Savannah Combs; 2 great grandchildren, Wyatt Marshall and Austin Virdin and a brother.

Friends may call on Tuesday, July 16 from 10 to 11 am in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD.  A graveside service will follow in Zion Cemetery at 11:30 am.
