Gerald Lewin Jacquette Sr, 68, of Rock Hall, MD passed away peacefully on January 28, 2026 at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Chestertown.

Gerald was born on January 14, 1958 to the late James W. and Ann Schauber Jacquette. He was lovingly raised at Shipyard Farm in Rock Hall with his siblings. It was there that they learned that hard work, perseverance, family, and God are what matter most. He spent his life working on farms, as a waterman, and operating a dump truck for local companies. He was a natural storyteller who loved to share stories and life lessons with everyone he spoke to. He leaves his family and friends with many memories, stories, and life lessons to cherish.

Gerald enjoyed cooking, especially recipes that he was taught by his mother. He made soup, biscuits, and many other meals from memory that his family will miss. He also enjoyed fixing things. He loved to take things that were broken, repair them, and put them back together, leaving the item with his own personal touch. He was also an animal lover, with a big heart for animals of all kinds who needed care. He welcomed many animals into his home and instilled this love throughout his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Nita, and their three children; Sarah Davis, Buck Jacquette and his wife Amanda, and Kendall Manning and her husband Ryan; his three grandchildren, Mackenzie Jacquette, Blake Jacquette, and Marley Manning; siblings Betty Ann Strong (Buff), Jimmy 'Jim Bob' Jacquette (Andrea), and Frances Rodney (George); a special niece Shelia, and many other nieces and nephews. He is also survived by many pets including JJ, Cooper, and Maizie.

Gerald's life was full of cherished moments that will live on in his family's hearts. He would often give people many chances to make situations right and his spirit and memory will live on with them forever.

A service will be held at Chestertown Baptist Church on Sunday, February 8th at 2:30pm, with fellowship following from 3:00- 5:00pm. Please visit at any time to share your memories and enjoy the company of one another.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Company or Kent County Humane Society, or buy some scratch offs and enjoy them with your family, as Gerald did many times.
