Franklin 'Frankie' Newnam, Jr. 80 of Galena, MD passed away on August 24, 2023 at Christiana Care, Union Hospital, Elkton, MD.

Frankie was born on August 31, 1942, son of the late Franklin L. Newnam, Sr. and Anna Pearl Hanifee Newnam.  He was a millwright for Ametek Industries for 38 years.  Frankie was a former member of Millington Moose Lodge. A lifetime resident of Galena where he and his wife Jane have lived in their home since 1969. He could fix anything, loved tinkering in his garage, his 1999 Dodge Ram, mowing grass and building toyboxes and other items for his grandchildren.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Jimmy Newnam, sister in law, Alice Jean Newnam, a niece Tracy Husfelt and a nephew Mark Husfelt.

Frankie is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jane Sapp Newnam, daughters Sherri Cunningham (Timothy) and Lisa Shaw; a sister, Phyllis Loveless; brother, John 'Jackie' Newnam; 4 grandchildren, Timothy "TC" Cunningham (Heather), Ashley George, Joseph Cunningham (Lauren) and Heather Mills (Danny); 9 great grandchildren, Rileigh, Katelyn, Austin, Cody, Evan, Tyson, Maranda, Charlie and Emmalyn, a great great grandchild, Sawyer; sisters in law, Cheryl Newnam Robbins, Joan Harding and Joyce Powell (Dickie); nephews, Eric Husfelt and Norman Husfelt (Mary) and nieces, Jennifer Newnam Willey and Marie Gibson (Mike) and a great nephew Hobie Willey.

A private burial will be held in Galena Cemetery.
