Frances "Sis" Ann Sobon (née Liptak), age 72, died on Friday, December 2nd, at her home in Earleville, MD, surrounded by her family after a three year battle with ampullary cancer. She was born in Aliquippa, PA, on May 24th,1950 to Paul and Mary Liptak (Bires) and was the second oldest out of the four children.

After graduating high school, Sis moved to Elkton with her husband, John, also from Aliquippa. They made Cecil County their forever home. Sis worked as a bank teller at various County Bank locations throughout Cecil County, MD. Many customers remember her in the drive-thru in Elkton because of her kind smile, infectious laughter, and her memory of their families; she was always one to ask about a loved one. In retirement, she spent time traveling to visit her grandchildren in West Virginia, Maryland, and Virginia. Sis also spent time with dear friends on special trips throughout the year.

Sis is preceded in death by her parents and her youngest brother, P.J. Liptak of NY. She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, John Sobon, her daughters, Amy Haggerty and husband, Jeff, of Elkton, MD, and Sarah Sobon and her wife, Chrissy Fehskens, of Richmond, VA. Also surviving are her five cherished grandchildren, Caroline, Emma, and Lauren Haggerty and Henry and Ada Sobon. Sis is also survived by her sister, Paula Olshanski (Walter) of Cannonsburg, PA, and David Liptak of Ohio, as well as by numerous nieces and nephews.

A Catholic mass and celebration of her life will be posted at a later date.
