Frances E. Miller 'Fay', 83 of Earleville, MD passed away on April 22, 2023 in Accent Care Hospice-Christiana Hospital.

Fay was born on May 23, 1939, daughter of the late Edward R. Walls, Sr. and Mary Margaret Durham Walls. She was raised in Kent County and was a 1957 graduate of Galena High School. She furthered her education at West Chester University, graduating in 1961 and obtained her master's degree in 1970 from Kent State University. Fay began her teaching career as a physical education teacher at Kent County and later became the Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Services, retiring in 2010 after 48 years of service.

Fay was a member of ASBO, earning the Eagle Award in 2006, she was past president of Kent County and Maryland Retired School Personnel, she was an active member of St. Paul's U.M Church in Earleville, also active with the Westview Shores Civic Association. She enjoyed coaching, playing softball and loved the Orioles. Fay was inducted into the Maryland Softball Hall of Fame.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Margaret Clark and Ann Sutton and brothers, Raymond L. Walls and Edward R. Walls, Sr.

Fay is survived by her daughter, Tracey Lynne Miller (Helen Oates) and sister, Edwina 'Winnie' Walters all of Earleville, brother-in-law, William S. Sutton and sister-in-law, Nancy Walls both of Chestertown and numerous nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, April 30 from 3 to 6 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD where funeral service will be held on Monday, May 1 at 11 am. Burial will follow in Galena Cemetery
