Obituary

Etel Fedor Walraven, 'Tusi' left this world peacefully held in the arms of Jesus on April 23, 2020.  She was 94.

Tusi was born on February 1, 1926 in Vacs, Hungary, daughter of the late Lajos and Ilona Meinhardt Fedor.  In 1944 during war time, she and her mother fled their beloved home land and lived as refugees in Austria.  In 1950 they came to the United States, first living in Ohio then New York.  While in New York Tusi was contacted by a family friend Dr. Geza Koralewski who was also Hungarian to come to Millington, MD and work as his nurse at his doctor's office.  Together they cared for the residents of Millington and the surrounding communities for 30 years.

Shortly after she moved to Millington, she met a local fellow, Kenny Walraven and they married in 1956.

She loved the Danube River in Vacs where she enjoyed boating, swimming and ice skating.  Tusi was a Christian woman, raised Catholic but enjoyed services in other denominations.  She also enjoyed classical music, Christian music, cooking Hungarian Foods but most enjoyed caring for her family.

The family wishes to thank Barbara Weller and the team of caregivers over the past several years for the love and attention they gave Tusi.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Kenny Walraven in 1992 and step-son Billy Walraven.

Tusi is survived by her daughters, Eva Hickman and her husband Paige and Catherine Durham and her husband Allan all of Millington; 4 grandchildren, Aaron Simon (Shelby) and Andrea Simon Pennington (Mike), Kyle Durham (Steffanie) and Eric Durham (Allison); 2 great grandchildren Emmi Simon and Joan Etel Durham.  Also extended families including Frances Albia and family and the Walraven families of Virginia Beach.

A private graveside service will be held in Asbury Cemetery, Millington, MD.

Memorials may be offered to the Food Pantry at Asbury United Methodist Church in Millington.
