Ernest Elwood Merchant of Rock Hall, MD., passed away on Oct. 12, 2021.

Born February 20, 1929, "Elwood" was the son of Noah and May Merchant and the devoted husband of Charlotte Higgins Merchant, father of Elizabeth Marie Usilton, grandfather of Joseph Elwood "Woody" Batchelor, Lauren Usilton and Danielle Thornton, great grandfather of Brooklyn, Raylynn, Skylynn and Micaelyn andmany nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his daughter Carol Merchant Batchelor.
