Erma Joyce Cook Johnson, 69 of Millington, MD passed away surrounded by her loving husband and daughter on December 20, 2024.

Mrs. Johnson was born on July 10, 1955 in Beeville, TX, daughter of the late Ivan W. Cook andEvelyn Joyce Woods Cook. She was raised in Virginia where she was a graduate of StonewallJackson Sr. High School. She achieved an associate's degree in Data Processing from Northern Virginia Community College. Previously she attended George Mason, and VPI studying biology 1973 to 1975. Mrs. Johnson worked as an Insurance Processor for Aetna at the Blue Hen Corporate Center, Dover. Formerly she worked at Leggetts in the Dover Mall, until it closed.

Mrs. Johnson, AKA "Miss Erma", helped costume the actors participating in Church Hill Theatre's Green Room Gang for the past 10 years. She loved creating costumes and props, as well as helping the young actors in any way she could. Miss Erma also used her extensive computer skills to help build a database for Church Hill Theatre's business office, and enjoyed stuffing envelopes for their Annual Giving.

Mrs. Johnson also volunteered for the NICU Helping Hands Angel Gown program by procuring and disassembling wedding gowns so the fabric could be made into burial gowns infants that pass in the NICU.

Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband of 38 years, William Carlisle Johnson, their daughter Jennifer R. Johnson and her siblings, John Richard Cook, David Cook, and Linda Cook.

Services will be held privately.
