Emma Jean Turner, 85 of Elkton, MD passed away on December 27, 2022 at Elkton Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
Emma Jean was born on June 23, 1937, daughter of the late Harry Preston Turner and Elsie Viola Turner. She lived most of her life in Warwick, MD where she worked in housekeeping for DuPont Company. She was a member of Rehoboth Apostolic Church of God under the direction of the late Pastor Oscar Durphy and after his passing she became a member of Glorious Church of God and Christ and Pastor Kevin Smith, where she enjoyed bible studies.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Louise Mary Watts, Margaret Turner and Bess Ann Turner and a great grandson Allahjah Sorden.
Emma Jean is survived by her daughters, Alberta Young of Elkton, MD and Varnessa Waters of Cecilton, MD; a sister Dorothy Turner of Baltimore, MD, 5 grandchildren Angela (Michael), Krisie, Elwood, Eric and Shantae; 22 great grandchildren and 3 great greatgrandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 3 at 1 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD. Burial will follow in Union Bethel Cemetery, Cecilton, MD
