Elsie Naomi Christy was born on March 7,1947 in Elkton Maryland, and transitioned to heaven on August 5, 2023 at Bayhealth Hospital in Dover, DE.

Elsie attended Henry Highland Garnett High School class of 1965, where she made many friends. Elsie was a very pleasant person she never complained even when she became sick. She loved serving the lord while attending Wesley Chapel of Love in Sassafras, MD. Elsie was known for doing many things, but babysitting was what she did most. She also enjoyed sewing, watching lifetime, food network, westerns, soap operas, and the best attraction was watching her grandchildren grow up. She is preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Elzie Christy, her son Steven Christy and her siblings Sandra Garnett, Geneva Young, and Elzie Christy Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memories her children Darrin Christy (Vonda)of Chesapeake City MD, Tia Jones of Wilmington DE, James Christy (Tynette) of Centreville MD, Koren Christy of Camden DE, a devoted god daughter Regina Christy of Elkton MD siblings Marjorie Christy of Sassafras MD, Gladys Christy of Middletown DE, Corneilous Christy of Cecilton MD, grandchildren Darrin, Mishae, Darion, Dalia, Dominique, Taquoyia, DeVaughn, Tiyahae, Jamera (Kayleb), Jamiya, Taliyah, Trevion, Niyonna, Amir, Sanai, great grandchildren Asher, Darrin, Ja'Kobe and a host of family and friends.

A viewing will be held on August 19 from 9 to 11 am at Mt. Olive AME Church, 24840 Lambs Meadow Rd., Worton, MD where funeral service will begin at 11 am.  Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel of Love in Sassafras.  Arrangements by Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech.
