Eleanorus M. Cotton, 70, of Elkton, MD passed away peacefully on July 17, 2026 at Elkton Nursing and Rehab after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
Ellie was born on December 13, 1955, daughter of the late James Alfred Cotton Sr. and Martha Hackett Cotton. She was raised in Earleville and graduated from Bohemia Manor High School, class of 1974. She later worked as a Correctional Officer for the Cecil County Detention Center, serving her community for over 15 years.
She was a lover of doll houses. She collected and built beautiful doll houses and displayed them throughout her house. She also enjoyed making beaded jewelry. Even through her battle with MS she always kept a smile on her face and was happiest when she was watching Westerns and picking crabs with family and friends.
Along with her parents she is preceded in death by two sisters, Gloria Maple and Diann Cotton, and a brother James Cotton Jr.
She is survived by her sister Doris Mary Cotton, her brother Charles Cotton, best friend and caregiver Belinda Ritter and many loving nieces and nephews.
Per Ellie’s wishes there will be no public services.
