Eleanore Emma Reed, 85 of Downingtown, PA passed away on April 12, 2025 at Paoli Hospital, Paoli, PA.

Mrs. Reed was born on December 11, 1939 in Marydel, MD, daughter of the late John J. and Myra V. Matthews Edmundson.  At an early age her parents moved to Earleville, MD where she graduated from Cecilton High School.  Eleanore met and married Irby Reed, Jr and moved to Pennsylvania in the early 1960's, where they raised their sons. Eleanore enjoyed drawing, gardening and needlepoint work.

Along with her parents, she was preceded by her husband of 62 years, Irby Reed, Jr., and her sisters, Joan Booth and Jeannette Marshall.

Mrs. Reed is survived by her sons, Jeff Reed (Susan) of West Chester and Todd Reed (Karen) of Downingtown, PA a sister Edna Smith of Elkton, MD; 3 grandchildren Matt Reed, Bryan Reed (Emily) and Dalton Reed (Olivia) and 2 great grandsons, Caleb and Lucas.

A private graveside service will be held in Zion Cemetery, Cecilton, MD.  arrangements by Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech.
