Edwin Owings Pickering, "Pic", of Rock Hall, MD, passed away on November 29, 2025, at Compass Regional Hospice Center. He was 78 years old. He passed due to complications from a 2-year battle with pancreatic cancer.

Pic was born on October 5, 1947, son of the late Owings S. and Mildred Rainer Pickering. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Penny Coleman Pickering; 3 sons: Edwin O. Pickering, II "Cap", Shane C. Pickering, and Troy Hollett; daughter-in-law Amy Pickering and 2 wonderful grandchildren Hannah and Evan Pickering.

Born and raised in Rock Hall, he was active in the community, served in the Maryland National Guard, enjoyed hunting and fishing with friends and family, playing in and coaching many sports, and was a successful entrepreneur as well. Pic owned and operated Rock Hall Liquors and Deli for 45 years, retiring in 2021.

Among his many athletic achievements as a youth and as an adult, Pic was well known for playing and coaching men's softball, where he was inducted into the Maryland Modified Softball Hall of Fame. He coached both boy's league and woman's basketball and boy's baseball for Kent County High School and coached for many years for Rock Hall Little League.

He was loved greatly and will be missed by many.
