Edith Long Davis, of Cecilton, MD passed away peacefully on October 3, 2026 at her son’s home at the age of 87.

Mrs. Davis was born on July 29, 1939 in Earleville, MD, daughter of the late Henry and Mary Loller Long. She was a lifetime resident of Cecilton, where her husband owned Davis Service Station. Edith had worked for the Town of Cecilton, Cecilton Cable, Mackie’s Home and Hardware and for her husband as a bookkeeper. She enjoyed quilting, cooking and walking through Cecilton.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Porter L. ‘Bob’ Davis, Jr. and a brother Henry Long.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her sons, Allen P. Davis (Dolores) and Michael D. Davis (Kim); siblings, William, James and Donnie Long, Diane Powell, Jackie Long and Phyllis Carroll; 4 grandchildren Kyle Davis (Jessica), Taylor Lee (David), Morgan Marino (Mike) and Geoff Davis and 6 great grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 7 from 10 to 11:30 am in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD, where graveside service will follow in St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Earleville, MD.
