Doris Willson Olsen, 73, of Chestertown, MD passed away on July 27, 2023 at U of M Shore Medical Center in Easton.

Born on September 9, 1949, Doris was raised in Fairlee, Maryland and lived her entire life in Kent County.  She worked for the Kent County Planning and Zoning Department for many years before retiring with over 20 years of service.  She loved tending to her garden and growing flowers, especially her roses.  She was also an avid bingo player and loved going to the slots at Dover Downs, where she shared many great times.  She also loved spending time with her family.

Along with her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Dennis G Olsen, sister Suzanne Matthews and nephew Doug Bigelow.

She is survived by her son Michael Dennis Olsen, daughter Lori Olsen Joyner (David), sister Jane Dill, grandchildren Kendal A. Joyner and Joseph Joyner (Brooke) and a great grandchild Emmi Joyner.

In Lieu of Flowers, the family requests donations be sent to the Chestertown Volunteer Fire Co., PO Box 296, Chestertown, MD 21620 or the Kent and Queen Anne's Rescue Squad, 140 Morgnec Rd. Chestertown, MD 21620.

Services will be held privately.
