Obituary

Doris May Lucas Prickett, 95 of Church Hill Md. passed away peacefully on March 12, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Doris Prickett was born on November 9, 1927, daughter of Earl Franklin and Mildred Caroline Loveland Lucas. She was raised in Mt. Holly, NJ. Doris worked for Bell telephone until She Married Jim Prickett in 1945, then they farmed together and raised produce for the Campbell soup company. They moved to Maryland in 1966 with their 5 children and continued to raise produce for the canaries.

Along with her parents Doris is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Franklin S. *Jim* Prickett: daughter Patricia and son in law Roland Greenwald, daughter Bonnie and son in law Larry Williams and their sons Keith A. and David F. Williams, and 2 brothers Jack and Allen Lucas.

Doris is survived by her children, Thomas Prickett (Nancy), Jim Prickett (Joyce) and Terri Prickett Price & Floyd. 10 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.

Doris was very active on the farm and raising five children, she was involved in the Price Women's Club, and the Price 4-H club for many years. She loved to sew, canning and reading. Going out on Saturday nights and dancing with a wonderful group of friends.

Later Doris and Jim retired from farming, and they raised and raced Standard bred horses which they both truly loved. When Doris lost Jim, she continued to stay busy still going to the racetrack, line dancing, traveling and a member of the red hatters. She was the happiest being surrounded by her large loving family.

A private graveside service will be held in Sudlersville Cemetery.
