On Saturday January 30, 2021, Doris Lorraine Morris Gale, 83, passed away peacefully at Christiana Hospital Newark, DE.
Doris, daughter of the late John and Mary Morris, was born June 21,1937 in Butlertown, MD. She received her education from Carver High in Elkton, MD. She retired from Campbell Soup Company in Chestertown, MD after 32 years of service. She enjoyed television. Her favorite shows were: Western movies, soap operas, wrestling, Sanford and Son, Jimmy Swaggert and Madea. Her hobbies included, word search puzzles, cooking, family gatherings, shopping, going out to eat and attending Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William Lord Gale, parents, John Morris; Mary Morris, step-father, Eugene Garnett, five brothers, John Morris; Bernard Morris; Oliver (Hap) Morris; Clarence (Popeye) Morris; Rodney Morris, 2 sisters, Hilda (Babe) Garnett; Jean (Bitty) Hollingsworth, brother-in-law, Griffin Gaskins Sr, Aunt, Ada Briscoe, along with special nieces, nephews and cousins.
She leaves to cherish in her memory, her children, Mary Annette Hollingsworth Pearce "Nettie" of Elkton, MD; Henry Lionel Hollingsworth "Nuck" (Carla) of Elkton, MD, step-children, Arthur Hollingsworth Jr (Beverly) of Cecilton MD; Diane Harris (Larry) of Chesapeake City, MD, Jamie Allen (Ace) of Newark, DE, grandchildren, Tyler; Cierra; Taylor; Brandon; Kristen and Makayla, great-grandchildren, Kayden; Jaylen and Jahsir, her sister, Julia Gaskins of Carneys Point, NJ, her brother, Nathan Garnett of Newark DE, brother-in-law, Carl Gale of New Castle, DE, and 3 sister-in-laws along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted friends.
Special recognition: Sarah Young, Margaret Cooper, Rose Henry, Doreen Walker, Patricia Waters, Pat Williams, Robin Waters, and Varnessa Waters.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 6 from 11 to 1 pm at Five Rivers Church, 290 White Hall Rd. Elkton, MD where funeral service will begin at 1 pm. Burial will be held privately.
