Delores Yvonne Bryden Unruh, "Dee", 88 of Baltimore, MD formerly of Aberdeen, MD passed away on September 19, 2021 at the Oak Crest Village Retirement Community following a brief illness.

Dee was born on December 6, 1932, daughter of the late S. Albert and Emily Blackiston Bryden of Rock Hall, MD.  She was raised for a time in Ocean City, Md, where her father worked building the Route 50 bridge, and then in Rock Hall.  She graduated from the nursing program at Maryland General Hospital in Baltimore, and was a highly respected registered nurse at Harford Memorial Hospital in Havre de Grace, Md for more than 50 years.  She raised her family in Aberdeen and was a long time member of Grove Presbyterian Church.  She retired from Harford Memorial in 2011.

Dee had many loves in her life, and was truly loved by many.  She was most proud of her contributions to the founding of the 1 ^st Harford County hospice organization, now named Senator Bob Hooper House, and the facility contains a plaque in one of the rooms dedicated to her. Also of utmost importance in her life was her work as an RN in the post-surgical recovery room, the Intensive Care unit and in the Psychiatric Departments.   She loved nursing so much that much later in her life, while working full time, she attended University Of Maryland School of Nursing at Baltimore, and obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.

Other loves of hers included, Ocean City, Maryland, all manner of Maryland food, (including Steamed Crabs, old bay steamed shrimp, Crab Cakes, Chocolate Dipped Strawberries from the OC boardwalk, Bomboys Chocolates (Havre de Grace, MD), and anything made by her son in law, Curtis, a chef), gardening, mowing on her riding mower until just a few years ago, watching birds and butterflies in her backyard, traveling with her family and with her love Ned, (including spending New Year's Eve in Times Square, New Orleans Mardi Gras, and the Preakness), adopting stray cats, including her beloved Norbert, attending minor league games at Cal Ripken stadium in Aberdeen, Watching the Ravens play from a skybox at Camden Yards, and wearing Ravens purple on Fridays, and watching the Orioles while wearing her enormous collection of "O's" clothing and accessories.  She inherited her love of giving silly gag gifts from her father Albert, earning quizzical looks from her many recipients.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her close companion of over 30 years, Raymond "Ned" Prenatt, whom she met at Grove Presbyterian Church, and who lived very near her apartment at Oak Crest Village.

Dee is survived by her children, Michael Unruh of Las Vegas, NV, Cheryl Martin (Andrew) of Guilford, CT,  Karen Unruh of Rock Hall, MD and Diana Eargle (Curtis) of Aberdeen, MD; 4 grandsons, Jason (Erica), Christopher, and Dylan McCullough (Stephanie) and Daniel O'Madigan (Staci); 2 step granddaughters, Sarah Eargle (Sebastian) and Vivian Holt (Pat). In addition she is predeceased by step grandson Tom Eargle.  She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren, Madeline, Lincoln and Evelyn McCullough.

A Funeral Service will be held on 1st October at 11am, in Wesley Chapel Church, Rock Hall, MD, where friends may call 1 hour prior to service.  Burial in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Rock Hall, MD.
