Obituary

David Arnold Foster, age 75, passed away July 9 th , 2020 in Florida after a long battle with COPD and other health issues.

David was born in Delaware County Pa on Jan 22, 1945 to Clarence Biddle Foster and Elizabeth (Burger) Foster.   Dave graduated Haverford High School in 1963 and married his high school sweetheart Joyce (Black) Foster in 1964.  They had 2 daughters, Barbara (Foster) Hewlett and Wendy (Foster) Coffman.

He built his life around his family as a Pipefitter/welder with Local Union 420 out of Philadelphia and followed his dream of having his own Charter Boat.  In 1975 the family moved to Sea Isle City NJ and purchased the boat the "Trophy Run" - named from his drag racing days – running for the trophy!  After that they moved to Maryland where he was a Yacht Broker at Skipjack Marina, Restaurant manager and ran a successful Sales and Marketing company through Amway.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents and his Brother Wayne Foster.  His Survivors include his wife of 56 years, daughter Barbara married to Butch Hewlett with 2 children, Glenn "Butchie" and Bethann "Kiki" and his daughter Wendy married to Tyler Coffman with 2 children  David "Nelson"  and Foster.  He is also survived by his 2 brothers and their families, Biddle Foster from Gettysburg Md and his brother Stephen Foster in Florida along with several nieces and nephews.

A graveside memorial service will be held at Stillpond Cemetery in Stillpond Md at 4pm on Sept 4 th 2020, with Rev. Bill Downing officiating.

Following the service refreshments and reflections will be held at the Kitty Knight House in Georgetown, MD.

I am posting this picture of my family - mom- Joyce Foster, , dad - David Foster and sister Wendy Coffman because this was one of the last times we were all together. My dad passed away last month in Florida in a nursing home . He was fighting a long battle with lung problems and other health issues that close family and friends were aware of. I thought this would be the best way to get the word out as many of our friends knew him from being a pipefitter in Pennsylvania, fishing in New Jersey. selling Yachts in Maryland, marketing in Amway, to retirement. We will miss his quirky sense of humor and remember the good times! There will be a grave side service in Stillpond Md on Sept 4th at 4pm. He will be buried with his mom and dad, Clarence and Elizabeth Foster and his brother Wayne Foster.
