Cynthia Ann Hickman Elburn, 81 of Chestertown MD passed away on February 15, 2025 at Corsica Hills Center.

Mrs. Elburn was born on May 11, 1943, daughter of the late Clifton 'Kip' and Ida Whaland Hickman.  She had lived most of her life in Rock Hall where she graduated from Rock Hall High School in 1961.  Cindy enjoyed sports throughout her life, playing softball both in high school and the Adult Women's League. Cindy also enjoyed bowling and was on several bowling leagues. She loved the Orioles and Ravens, always rooting for her home teams.  Cindy enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching their sporting events.  She also enjoyed fishing, crabbing, boating, the beach and playing cards.

Her career began as the Town Clerk for Rock Hall, for 20 years and a cook at Waterman's but she most enjoyed working at the Benedictine School as a receptionist.

Over the years she attended Wesley Chapel, Asbury UM Church and St. James Church.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Bobby Elburn and a brother Ronald B. Hickman.

Cindy is survived by her sons, Marion S. Townsend, Jr. (Bridget) and Allan G. Townsend (Lisa); brothers S. Paige Hickman and Dennis 'Denny' Hickman; 9 grandchildren, Benjamin E. Townsend, Peyton Parks, Michael Parks, Thomas Townsend, Amelia Townsend, Rick Townsend, Wesley Townsend, Emma Townsend and Gregory Townsend and a great grandchild, Amora Butler.

A viewing will be held on Sunday, February 23, from 2 to 4 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD where funeral service will begin at 4 pm. Burial will be held privately.
