Clifford Lamar Higgs, 83 of Ocean View, DE passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on July 24, 2026.
Mr. Higgs was born on July 25, 1942, in Baltimore, MD, son of the late William Jennings Higgs and Dorothy Mae Eck Higgs. He was raised on the family’s dairy farm, Cornerview Farm near Ingleside. After high school graduation Clifford trained to breed cows through artificial insemination, he served in this role for a few years throughout the mid-shore counties of Maryland. He returned to the family farm where he would continue to farm until retiring in 2017.
Clifford and his wife Kay always loved their family time together at the beach. In 2014 they built their retirement home in Ocean View Delaware and moved down full time after his retirement from farming. His retirement didn’t last long as he found a job he loved at the Indian River Inlet Marina, where he could ride on the golf cart assisting boaters parking their trailers. Here he also found a church home where he attended Crossroad Community Church in Dagsboro, DE.
Along with his parents, Clifford was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Kay Diane Higgs; 3 brothers, Eugene, William and Thomas Higgs and a sister Wanda Mae Higgs.
Mr. Higgs is survived by his sons, Craig Higgs (Tracey) of Centreville, MD and Kevin Higgs (Sherry) of Henderson, MD; 4 grandchildren, Trevor Higgs (Carrie), Carley Higgs (Jonathan), Kelsey Higgs and Rose Fan; 3 great grandchildren, Cali, Stetson and Waylon and a brother Michael Higgs.
