Charles H. Hamann, 83, of Still Pond, MD passed away peacefully on April 3, 2025 at the Resorts at Chester River Manor, in Chestertown, MD.

Charlie was born in Salisbury, MD on March 4, 1942 to the late Florence Figgs and Otto Hamann.  As a young boy Charlie lived in Baltimore for several years before moving to the Pine-Croft Farm in Still Pond in 1955 with good friends, the Payne Family.  He was a 1961 graduate of Chestertown High School where he served as the class president.  After high school he attended Marshall University in Huntington WV, graduating in 1965.  Upon graduation he enlisted in the United States Coast Guard serving in the reserves from 1965 to 1970.  He returned to the farm for a few years before starting his career in the hospitality field.

Charlie returned to Baltimore in 1969 to work as a night auditor at the Downtown Holiday Inn.  A year later he went to work for American Motor Inn, where he was employed for over 22 years.  Charlie then went to work for Prime Hospitality where he continued his auditing work until his retirement in 2001.  He loved his work and enjoyed many opportunities to meet people and travel the country.  After his retirement he came back to the Farm in Kent County where he loved working with the cows.  He also loved watching old western movies, listening to bluegrass music and spending as much time as possible outdoors.

Along with his parents Charlie was preceded in death by siblings Elmer and his wife Patricia Hamann, Rose Hamann, Linda and her husband Mike Webster, Florence Figgs Bumbrey, Doris Carter Estep, James Carter and Benjamin Carter.

Charlie is survived by siblings Russell Hamann and his wife Linda of Crumpton, MD and Marie Figgs Jones of Pocomoke, MD; sister-in-law Phyllis Carter of Salisbury, MD; many loving nieces and nephews; good friends Bob and Jean Clark Payne and family of Still Pond, MD; and his cat "Sweetheart" whom he loved dearly for 18 years.

A private graveside service will be held in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, 6065 Rock Hall Rd, Rock Hall, MD 21661.
