Charles E. "Chuck" Conover, beloved Dad, Pop-pop, brother, and friend of Barclay, MD passed away peacefully on Friday January 29, 2021 at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, DE surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on November 9, 1946 in Chester County, PA, Chuck was one of six children to the late Harry Conover and Helen Conover. Chuck was a lover of life and people. He never met a stranger and always became the life of the party everywhere he went. He was an avid gardener, and loved fishing, crabbing, dancing at the VFW, and spending time with his family.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Brenda 'Kitty' Conover; second wife, Sarianne M. Ayers-Conover; stepson, Tobby H. Ayers and his brother, Bobby Conover.
He is survived by his 2 children, Charles E.E. Conover of Smyrna, DE; and Sherri L. Rose of Odenton, MD; 4 stepchildren, Peter R. Ayers (Yulia) of Lakeland, FL; Elmer B. Ayers II of Camden, DE; and Alygia E. Blank (Jeremy) of Milton, DE; sister Alice Hyatt of Sudlersville, MD; brothers Harry Conover (Brenda) of Warwick, MD; Tommy Conover (Gail) of Galena, MD; and John Conover of Centreville, MD; sister-in-law Lorraine Conover of Galena, MD; 5 grandchildren, Ashtyn Conover, Aiden Conover, Zachery Ayers, Kyle Ayers, and Gabriella Lopez; and 3 great-grandchildren, Madison Ayers, Mia Ayers, and Ayla Allen-Lopez. Extended family; Alice Elborn; Robin Nicholson (Bob); Billiejo Collier (Mike); William Elborn (Donna); Stacie Putnam (Bobby).
A funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross Street, Galena, MD 21635, where visitation will begin at 10 am. Burial will follow in Forest Cemetery, Middletown, DE.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Delaware Hospice of Milford, DE, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963. Memorial gifts can be made online, over the phone, or via check. or to the Kent County Memorial VFW Post 652, 30922 River Rd, Millington, MD 21651.
