Catherine Price Groves, 97 of Kennedyville, MD passed away peacefully at home on September 4, 2025, with her loving grandson, Dennis Meeks, by her side.

Catherine, affectionately known as "Miss Kitty" by all who knew her, was born on October 17, 1927, in Cecil County.  She was the daughter of the late Rathmell and Ruth (Long) Price.  She and her siblings were raised in Cecilton, and she was a graduate of Cecilton High School.  She married Mr. Stuart in 1948, and together they raised their family, first on the Eliason Farm and then on their own Mar Hill Farm in Kennedyville.  She enjoyed working on the farm and she loved to take trips to Dover Downs.  In her later years, she found much joy in hanging out down in the shop with the boys listening to their hunting and fishing stories, partaking in their feasts, and catching up on all the "gossip".

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Stuart Groves in 2012, her four brothers (Harry, Russell, George, and Billy Price), and her two sisters (Anna Crowe and Ruth Ingle).

Miss Kitty is survived by her son Wilson Groves (Robin) and daughter Helen Meeks; grandson Dennis Meeks (Michele) and two granddaughters Reba McNeil (Dane) and Kimberlee Meeks; two great grandsons Colin and Kellan; and many nieces and nephews.

A private burial will be held at Chester Cemetery, Chestertown, MD.
