Cassie Lee Jones, 90 of Galena, MD passed away on February 10, 2025 peacefully, surrounded by family at Compass Regional Hospice, Centreville, MD.

Cassie was born on January 11, 1935 in Albany, Georgia, daughter of John Jones and Edvenia Kalip Carter.  She was raised in Georgia until moving to Maryland in the 1950's.  Cassie worked for Campbell Soup for over 30 years.  After retiring, she served as a caregiver in her community.  She enjoyed cooking and making grape jelly for all to enjoy.  She loved watching all sports, spending time with her family, summers with her grandchildren and her Sunday dinners with family and friends.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Willie Fred Jones, Donald Jones and Edwin Harris, Sr; and a sister Matilda Chattman.

Cassie is survived by 2 daughters, Mary Ann Fields and Valerie Hackett; daughter in law Lisa Jefferson; 8 grandchildren, Adrian Fields (Melissa), Tychelle Doggett (Fred), Tameika Burke (Derek), Akeisha Poindexter (Mark), Tanisha Young, Shekeia Parker (Dwayne), Edwin Harris, Jr. and Shantelle Harris; 17 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Additionally, she will be affectionately missed by her 2 devoted friends; Josie Otwell and Doug Walters.

A viewing will be held on February 21 from 9 to 11 am in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD where funeral service will begin at 11 am.
