Brian Boyd Burris, 58 of Worton, MD, passed away on January 30, 2021 at home with his siblings by his side after a difficult battle with cancer.

He was born the middle son of Bruce Crew Burris and Elevian Smith Burris of Chestertown.  After receiving his GED in 1981, Brian enlisted in the United States Navy, proudly serving 4 years of active duty before receiving The Navy Expedition Medal and Good Conduct Medal.

Brian had worked for Blue Heron Contracting and Creafilll Fibers and more recently for LaMotte Chemical in Chestertown until his illness no longer allowed him to work.

Brian was past Commander of the Betterton American Legion Post #246 from 2010-2011.  In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf, fishing and shooting pool.

He was preceded by his father Bruce who passed away at the young age of 33 in 1970, leaving his wife Elevian to raise their four children on her own.  Elevian passed away in 2006.

Brian is survived by his two brothers, Brett (Elizabeth) Burris and Bruce (Annie) Burris both of Worton, One sister Brenda (Harold) Brown, Jr. of Still Pond; a daughter Tiffany and two grandchildren.  A special friend Scottie who was like a brother to him and a special friend and care giver, Roxanne.  He was also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 5 from 11 to 12 pm in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St. Galena, MD with Military Honors following.   Burial will be held privately in Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery, Hurlock, MD.
