Bonita Jean Nelson, 68, of Snow Hill MD died Tuesday July 20, 2021 in Chestertown, MD   She was the daughter of the late William T. and Betty Jean Marvel Legg.  Raised in Chestertown she was a 1971 Graduate of Chestertown High School.  She married and moved to Snow Hill where she raised her 3 daughters and worked for over 20 years as a PCO (Police Communications Supervisor) at the Salisbury Barracks for the Maryland State Police, retiring in 1999.  She loved her plants and pets.

Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 18 years, David Phillip Nelson.  She is survived by her 3 daughters, Stephanie 'Polly' Nelson of Richmond VA, Kristen 'Kitty' Harrison of Dover DE and Susan Nelson of Ocean City MD, her siblings Carolyn Meekins of Chestertown, MD, Janet Nadolny of Barclay, MD, William Legg of Church Hill, MD and Faye Evans of Citrus Springs FL.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 29 from 11 to 12 in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, Galena, MD, with a chapel service at 2 pm in the Eastern Shore Veterans Cemetery, Hurlock, MD.
